Prilosec

Prilosec

If you suffer from persistent heartburn on two or more days a week -- even though you've treated it and changed your diet -- you may have a potentially serious condition called acid reflux disease also known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Prilosec treats such diseases, and may be right for you. Prilosec is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) - decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach, used to treat ulcers, heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux, or Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It works by blocking acid production in the stomach. Prilosec may be used in combination with antibiotics (e.g., amoxicillin, clarithromycin) to treat certain types of ulcers.
